Michigan’s parks provide scenic places to play and relax. The sandy beaches along Lake Michigan are among the finest beaches in the U.S. We are known for an abundance of city and county parks that offer beautiful beaches, sand dunes, spectacular views, nature trails and much more!
Oval Beach
“Rated among the 25 best shorelines in the world by Conde Nasts Traveler, Oval Beach has the right combination of sand dunes, seclusion and services that create its cachet. Discover it best by riding across the Kalamazoo River on a hand-pulled chain ferry from the town of Saugatuck, climbing 282 steps to Mount Baldhead, and descending onto the grassy coastal sands.”

Pier Cove Beach
“A small, beautiful beach that features a small creek that lets out into Lake Michigan, which is often warmer than the big lake. It is perfect for small kids to splash in! Families can also find rocks and logs and make sculptures. In the big lake, kids (and adults) will swim to their hearts content. Oh, and dogs are welcome! This is the perfect pit stop to escape crowds.”
Location: Fennville, Mi.
Douglas Beach Park
“Douglas Beach provides a swimming beach on Lake Michigan. There are no lifeguards on duty at the beach. Secluded beach on Lake Michigan for perfect sunset watching”
Location: Douglas, Mi.
Saugatuck Dunes State Park
“Saugatuck Dunes State Park offers 1,000 acres of land with 2.5 miles of shore line. The Lake Michigan beach is a 0.6 mile hike from the picnic parking area. In addition, the park has fresh water coastal dunes that are over 200 feet tall. The park`s terrain varies from steep slopes to rolling hills. The park`s major attractions are the long sandy beaches and the 300-acre natural area, which contains a coastal dune system.”
