Grand Haven State Park

Kitchell-Lindquist Dunes Preserve
“This 114 acre nature preserve offers great nature trails through protected dune land adjacent to the Grand River. This site is an excellent example of a sand dune ecosystem. This site contains all stages of dune development, from bare beach areas along the Grand River to climax dune forest. Two trails wind through the interdunal area and along the Grand River shoreline. This site is undeveloped and has few amenities, so come prepared.”

Rosy Mound Natural Preserve
“Rosy Mound is a classic Great Lakes dune system including high wooded dunes, fore dunes, beach and a dune blowout. A 0.7 mile (one way) hiking trail from the parking area to the Lake Michigan shoreline includes 1,000 feet of stairs up and down the dunes and scenic views of woods, the dune blowout and Lake Michigan. A unique shade canopy, dune boardwalk trail and pit toilets are located near the beach.”

North Beach Park
“This popular 7 acre park offers swimming and sunbathing along 745 feet of Lake Michigan shoreline. During the summer, a barrier free beach walkway is available. Visitors can also climb the wooden stairway to the top of a dune for a panoramic view of Lake Michigan.”
